­­­­­­­­­­­­­The Chronicle is seeking a Marketing Manager, Client Solutions to join its dynamic Marketing team. In this role you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of client relationships post-sale to ensure effective outcomes. Primary responsibilities include developing and delivering editorially produced and underwritten content programs and working with a cross-functional marketing team, sales leadership and reps, and advertising clients.  The ideal candidate will be a strategic marketer and strong communicator with a proven track record in working with external clients and internal stakeholders to deliver the highest quality marketing programs that exceed client expectations. 

What You’ll Do:  

  • Develop strong and effective partnerships with clients, sales leads, and reps that deliver quality client experiences and lead to positive outcomes and repeat business.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on The Chronicle’s content products and make program recommendations that meet client needs. 
  • Work with marketing and editorial teams to ensure the effective implementation, measurement, and client communication of post-sale lead generation programs.
  • Solicit customer feedback on product, audience, and program positioning to ensure that effective sales support materials and packages are created, and that sponsor webinars and virtual forums meet content goals.
  • Make recommendations to identify new product ideas and areas for revenue growth, and analyze business lines to drive program recommendations, identify patterns, and conduct win/loss analysis.
  • Monitor performance of all client programs and work with editorial and post sales team to ensure that sponsorship programs and marketing deliverables meet expected outcomes, deadlines are met, and programs are executed on time. 
  • Own the hand off and transfer of items to appropriate teams to ensure successful implementation and fulfillment and overall program success. 
  • Interface and coordinate with advertising clients, subject matter experts, and the sales team to understand client needs and design programs to meet them and work within post sales team to provide guidance on client expectations. 
  • Enhance and drive program innovation. Partner with senior marketing, sales leadership, and sales team to evolve content advertising solutions.
  • Backup marketing production teams in the execution of integrated marketing campaign as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing role supporting high profile clients, preferably including experience working in a publishing/agency environment.
  • Demonstrated track record in executing integrated campaigns in a variety of mediums including print, digital, events, and social media.
  • Experience working on multiple accounts/campaigns consecutively in a high-volume setting under tight deadlines—preferably in an agency setting.
  • Strong understanding of ROI-oriented marketing required with the ability to analyze campaign performance.
  • Experience with marketing automation tools such as Marketo or HubSpot strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong business, analytical, prioritization, and planning skills.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills with internal and external audiences are required.
  • Effective, proactive planning, development (concept to completion), and project management skills are a must.
  • Excellent writing skills, and an ability to write according to established brand guidelines.
