The Opportunity

The Ethos Platform provides industry leading API hosting capabilities. Our solutions support high traffic, highly visible applications with immense amounts of data, numerous third-party integrations, and exciting scalability and performance problems.

As a platform engineer on the Ethos team you will work closely with our senior engineers to develop, deploy, and maintain our Kubernetes-based infrastructure. This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in cloud-native technologies and DevOps practices.

What you'll Do

  • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of the Kubernetes platform for container orchestration.
  • Partner with other development teams across Adobe to ensure applications are crafted to be cloud-native and scalable.
  • Perform day-to-day operational tasks such as upgrades and patching of the Kubernetes platform.
  • Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines for application deployment on Kubernetes.
  • Handle tasks and projects with Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Monitor the health of the platform and applications using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Solve issues within the platform and collaborate with development teams to resolve application issues.
  • Opportunities to contribute to upstream CNCF projects - Cluster API, ACK, ArgoCD among several others.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in container orchestration and cloud-native development.

What you need to succeed

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with Kubernetes.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator and/or Developer certifications encouraged.
  • Strong software development skills in Python, Node.js, Go, or similar languages.
  • Experienced with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of cloud network architectures (VNET/VPC/Nat Gateway/Envoy etc.).
  • A solid understanding of time-series monitoring tools (such as Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
  • Familiarity with the 12-factor principles and software development lifecycle.
  • Experienced with GitOps, ArgoCD, and Helm.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a geographically distributed team and a globally distributed organization.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $113,400 -- $206,300 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
