The Opportunity

This is a highly visible, newly created role on Adobe Express, one of Adobe’s most high-profile products and a key component of our growth strategy moving forward. Adobe Express plays a central role in delivering Adobe’s “Creativity for All” mission, leveraging our decades of experience working with the creative community. It makes the core technology behind industry-leading products like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro accessible with just a few clicks — and no learning curve.

You’ll be part of an independent, fast-moving team backed by the resources and talent of Adobe. We are a fun, hard-working, and experienced group of engineers who excel in both giving and receiving technical guidance. The team is contributing to the next generation of fully web-based creative tools, built using cutting-edge technologies like Web Components, Javascript, and Typescript. Our goal is to create fast, easy product experiences that empower everyone — from students and social influencers to marketers and small businesses — to make something impressive that resonates with their audience.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with your team to develop components and services for Adobe Express.
  • Write high-performance, reliable, and maintainable code, ensuring strong testing and documentation practices.
  • Test, deploy, and iterate on your code within a collaborative development process.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a fast-moving team, with clear, positive, and constructive communication.
  • Contribute to the growth of the team, helping others by providing thoughtful feedback and uplifting those around you.
  • Engage with customers to identify pain points, test ideas, and refine workflows.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams across Adobe, spanning different geographies.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Proven computer science fundamentals.
  • 8+ years of strong experience building and maintaining high-complexity web apps using any JS stack.
  • Solid foundational skills in Typescript/Javascript, Component Building & Organizing, and Separation of Concerns.
  • Experience with Web Components: Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, ES Modules, Templates, LitElement.
  • Ability to contribute across the full stack and wear different hats.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.

Bonus

  • Experience with modern web tools & patterns (npm, webpack, rollup, or other bundlers).
  • Knowledge of best practices for monorepo packages.
  • Experience building services using Node.js and related frameworks like Express.
  • Experience in environments where quality is top of mind (unit, integration, and E2E testing).
  • Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM development practices.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $153,600 -- $286,600 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
