The Opportunity
As a Royalty Expense Analyst, you'll be a key contributor on a strategic and critical finance and accounting team responsible for the administration of Adobe's licensed-in technology arrangements. You will have the opportunity to partner cross-functionally on various initiatives, influence business decisions through data-driven insights, lead change, standardize processes, and challenge the status quo as we continue to scale.
What You'll Do
- Ensure accurate and timely accounting of royalty expense in the financial statements in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Collaborate with other internal teams including, but not limited to BU/Product Management, Legal, Finance, and BU/Product Engineering to review, structure, and operationalize royalty expense arrangements
- Leverage reporting from various data sources to substantiate the fee obligations and process royalty payouts to our technology partners
- Provide valuable business insights to business and finance team members through reliable, complete, and accurate financial information to drive informed business decisions and expense forecasts
- Prepare relevant management level summaries by analyzing trends and variances to identify key business drivers within each business segment
- Identify process and systems related opportunities and assist with implementation of initiatives to drive automation, standardization, and operational efficiencies to reduce time to deliver while improving consistency and accuracy
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, or equivalent field and practical experience
- 3+ years of recent experience in a similar role, preferably in the software industry
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Preferred experience in SAP, Tableau, Power BI, Salesforce, Dynamics, or other ERP & CRM
- High attention to detail with an analytical nature and ability to take charge, set objectives, and seek results
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills to effectively interact with all levels of an organization
- Positive demeanor with ability to adapt in a constantly evolving business landscape
- Proven track record to work efficiently and deliver results in a timely manner

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $72,400 -- $158,800 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
